March 12 - Retirement Open HouseThe friends and family of Kathryn Buechler, Dietary Manager of 33+ years and Violet Feurst, Cook for about 26 years, are invited to an open house retirement celebration Friday, March 12th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Society in Scotland. March 14 - Fish FryThe Scotland VFW is putting on a fish fry this Sunday, March 14th. They will be serving Alaskan Pollack, cole slaw, potato salad, cake, and bars. This is a fundraiser for our local VFW Post. Serving will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Take a break from planning Sunday supper and bring family and friends to the VFW. Roses Just BecauseLandmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital is promoting the Roses Just Because...fundraiser from now until Monday, March 15th. Contact the hospital to place and prepay your order. A dozen long-stemmed roses are only 20 dollars. Make a gift of roses to someone special in your life for no reason...just because. Make a donation to support your local health care services at the same time. A variety of colors are available - first come - first choice. The funds earned in this project will be used to purchase flat screen tv's for the patient rooms. The roses will be available for pickup Tuesday, April 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Flowers and More. Your help with this project is greatly appreciated. Story Time at LibraryThe Scotland Library will be having Story Time every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Plan to join us with your pre-school children for this special time. If you would like to be a guest reader for our group, just call JoAnn Gemar. Youth Center RecyclingThe Scotland Youth Center needs your help! This is a non-profit organization that opened in September 2008 for the Scotland youth ages 8-18. We are collecting aluminum cans to recycle as an ongoing fundraiser. The collection point will be on Main Street. Just bag your cans up and throw them into the collection bin. We challenge the residents and businesses of Scotland and surrounding communities to make our community eco-friendly in addition to helping out our youth. Thank you for your support.
